Description : Lemon essential oil is cooling to the body. It is balancing to the nervous system. It can be calming or energizing depending on the body's need. It is mood uplifting, and helps relieve fatigue, and is known to increase concentration and memory. It is said that Lemon promotes weight-loss, and combats the signs of aging.
Use : Aids with blood flow, reduce blood pressure, helping with nosebleeds, bring down fever, help relieve throat infections, bronchitis, asthma and flu, boost the immune system, cleans the body, improve the functions of the digestive system,helpful with constipation, dyspepsia and cellulite, soothe and relieve headaches and migraines, clearing acne, cleaning greasy skin and hair, as well as removing dead skin cells.
Blend well with : Lavender, Lavandin, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Chamomile, Fennel, Eucalyptus, Juniper Berry, other citruses, and floral oils like Neroli, Ylang Ylang, Rose, and Geranium.
Oil Burner: Add 4 drops of essential oil for a burning time of 20 minutes.
Massage: Dilute 3-5 drops of essential oil in 10 ml. of carrier oil.
Inhalation: Put 5 drops in 200 ml. of steamed water and inhale for 3-5 minutes.
Bath: Put 15 drops of essential oil in the bath tub for a 20 minutes bath.
Precautions : Non-toxic, but can cause skin irritation and sensitizing in some individuals. Since it is a photo-toxic oil, it should not be used (even in low dilution) before being exposed to the sun.
