Spearmint Essential Oil

Botanical Name :  Mentha Spicata

Aromatic Description  :  Similar aroma to that of peppermint oil, but is slightly sweeter minty, fresh and perhaps slightly fruity in aroma
Therapeutic properties  :  Antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, cephalic, emmenagogue, insecticide, restorative and stimulant.

Description :  Spearmint essential oil is cooling to the body. It relieves pain, reduces inflammation, soothes itching, and increases physical strength. It is refreshing, energizing, and helps relieve fatigue. It is a nerve stimulant, and improves mental clarity and memory. It is also considered an aphrodisiac.

Use : Stimulate and uplift spirit, useful to deal with digestive problems including flatulence, constipation, diarrhea and nausea, helps with headaches, migraines, nervous strain, fatigue and stress, relieve the itching of pruritus and helps with acne, dermatitis, congested skin and sore gums.

Blend well with : Basil, Rosemary, Peppermint, Grapefruit, Lime, Tangerine, and Lavender.

Direction:
Oil Burner: Add 4 drops of essential oil for a burning time of 20 minutes.
Massage: Dilute 3-5 drops of essential oil in 10 ml. of carrier oil.
Inhalation: Put 5 drops in 200 ml. of steamed water and inhale for 3-5 minutes.
Bath: Put 15 drops of essential oil  in the bath tub for a 20 minutes bath.

Precautions : It is considered a non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing oil.
